Dark Photos
Claritas finds almost-black photos, such as pocket shots and accidental captures, so you can clear them out quickly.
Claritas flags photos that are almost entirely black, the accidental pocket shots and lens-covered captures that quietly take up space. A photo is listed when at least 85% of its pixels fall in the darkest brightness range.
How to use Dark Photos
- Open the Dark card on Home.
- Review the list and select the shots you don't need.
- Tap Delete and confirm.
Detection runs on a tiny grayscale version of each photo, so it is fast and fully on-device. Night photos with visible detail are generally not flagged, because the rule targets images that are close to completely black.
