On-Device Privacy
Claritas analyzes your photos entirely on your iPhone. No account, no photo uploads, and every deletion is recoverable for 30 days.
Claritas analyzes your photo library entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device frameworks and a bundled Core ML model. Your photos are never uploaded. There is no account to create, and every deletion goes to Recently Deleted, where it can be recovered for 30 days.
How to use On-Device Privacy
- Claritas asks for photo library access and explains why before the system prompt.
- All detection runs on your device; analysis does not download iCloud originals.
- You review and confirm every deletion. Nothing is pre-selected.
- Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your photos and videos, and everything detected about them
- Face data for People and Spotlight (deletable at any time)
- Scan results, cleanup history and stats
What the app does send
To be transparent: Claritas uses third-party services for app analytics and crash reports (Firebase), subscriptions (RevenueCat and Apple) and, if you allow tracking, ad measurement. It also checks a time server so the daily free limit can't be bypassed by changing the date. The Trips feature sends photo coordinates (not photos) to Apple to look up place names. None of these receive your photos. See the Privacy Policy for details.
