Discover Filters
Filter your iPhone library by large photos, large videos, downloads, photos without faces, overexposed shots, food photos and an aesthetic score.
Discover (the Deep Cleanup tab) shows what the main scan doesn't: it filters your library by type, size and quality. Instant filters cover videos, large photos (5 MB+), large videos (100 MB+) and downloaded images. A detailed scan adds photos without faces, overexposed shots, food photos and a 1–10 aesthetic score.
How to use Discover Filters
- Open the Discover tab.
- Tap any instant filter to see results right away.
- Tap Detailed scan to find aesthetic, overexposed and food shots in one pass.
- Select photos from any filter and delete them.
Instant filters
- Videos only
- Large photos: 5 MB and up
- Large videos: 100 MB and up
- Downloaded: images saved from messaging apps or the web (no camera data, or in download albums)
Detailed scan filters
- No faces
- Overexposed
- Aesthetic score: each photo gets a tier from 1 to 10 using Apple's on-device aesthetics analysis; filter by "Tier ≤ N" to find your weakest shots
- Food photos: on-device Vision classification

A 1–10 tier based on Apple's on-device image aesthetics analysis. It helps surface your weakest shots, such as accidental or poorly composed photos.
How do I find photos saved from WhatsApp?
Use the Downloaded filter in Discover. It lists images without camera information or from download albums, which typically come from messaging apps and the web.
